Apollo joins in Living Wage Week celebrations
Published: 18 November 2021
At Apollo, we are joining in the Living Wage Week celebrations (15-21 November) by reinforcing our appreciation for our workforce.
Apollo Chairman, Jon Saunders (R) and Apollo HR Manager, Amie Webb (L) celebrate Living Wage Week with Ben Whitehouse, one of the attendance bonus recipients, at Apollo’s recent half-year business briefing event.
We were awarded the accreditation by the Living Wage Foundation in June and join an 8000-strong business community which firmly believes that employees deserve a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work and have enough to live on to meet their everyday needs.
At Apollo’s half-year business briefing event on 16th November, all employees enjoyed Living Wage themed cakes and refreshments and eight colleagues were presented with attendance bonus awards to the value of £2500 for 100% attendance for a full year and £1000 for 100% attendance for the previous quarter.
Apollo Managing Director, Ian Cornelius, said: “Apollo has always maintained that it’s employees are its biggest asset. We are proud to be a Living Wage accredited business and genuinely appreciate all our colleagues and the difference they make to our business on a daily basis. It was encouraging to see that 49% of our workforce qualified to be in the annual attendance bonus draw and 75% in the quarterly which I hope confirms that they are happy in their roles and enjoy being part of the Apollo family.”
The attendance bonus is just one of a number of benefits Apollo employees enjoy. On top of that, additional business performance related bonuses are paid to all staff, access is provided to Health Shield medical cover which reimburses various medical and wellbeing costs and the Employee Assistance programme offers home life support, mini health checks and legal advice.

Apollo’s attendance bonus recipients (L-R): Tony Bevan, Neil Allingham, Anthony Guy, Ben Whitehouse, Karen Russell, Jade Warrington, Francis Radcliffe & Andreas Pappas.
