Apollo Chemicals are very pleased to be offering the opportunity of a Technical Laboratory Apprenticeship working within our well established Techinical department. The successful candidate will be working towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician, which is recognised for professional registration as RSciTech.

A Lab Technician Apprenticeship will learn: 

  • To work safely in a laboratory
  • To follow quality procedures
  • Regulatory requirements of the industry and laboratory 
  • Technical skill to fulfil their role
  • How to produce, analyse and interpret data, including the application of statistical techniques
  • To communicate scientific information appropriately
  • To use appropriate scientific methods to identify the causes of problems and produce solutions

Role Overview:
The role of laboratory technician, will involve a variety of laboratory based activities including testing, measuring, recording and analysing of results as part of the Technical team. Providing the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively, while adhering to procedures and health and safety guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data 
  • Preparing samples and performing product analysis
  • Processing of data ensuring the accuracy of data is to a high standard
  • Assist with site visits and customer training
  • Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced

Essential skills and competencies:

  • Exhibit the core values of Safety, Care and Trust
  • 5 x GCSE's (or equivalent) grade A* - C inc Maths, English and Science
  • Have the abliity to work pro-activley whilst multitasking and within a team environment
  • Able to work in an organised manner, under pressure and methodically
  • A wokring knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel

Hours of work: Monday - Friday 40 hours a week
