Ian Cornelius, Apollo's New Managing Director
Published: 11 September 2015
Apollo, the UK’s largest privately-owned liquid adhesive, primer, sealant and coating company, appoints Ian Cornelius as its new Managing Director. Ian Cornelius has been with the successful manufacturer for over 21 years. He is promoted from Sales & Marketing Director.
Jonathan Saunders becomes the new Apollo Group Chairman, a role previously undertaken by his late father and Apollo founder, Robert Saunders. Under the leadership of Jonathan (2008-2015), Apollo has doubled in size.
Of Ian’s appointment Jonathan stated: “As we entrust the role of Managing Director to Ian, we acknowledge the pivotal role in the growth of the company that he has played as Sales & Marketing Director. I have every confidence that he will continue to successfully drive the business forward in increasingly demanding and competitive markets, and overcome the exciting challenges we may face.”
Ian joined Apollo in 1994 as an Account Manager, and was promoted to Sales Manager in 2000 and then Sales and Marketing Director in 2011.
Reflecting upon his appointment, Ian stated: “I am very excited to be given the responsibility of driving Apollo’s future success. We are very well placed to take advantage of the opportunities available to us, particularly within the roofing and construction markets. Apollo’s vision is to become the unseen coating, adhesive and primer department of our customers’ businesses. We have great people who are passionate about solving customer problems and ensuring an excellent customer experience”.
Ian also added: “I am delighted that Jonathan has decided to maintain a key role within the business. Under his guardianship, Apollo will continue to retain its ‘family feel’ and it will encourage and ensure that our customers, our staff and our stakeholders achieve their ambitions”.
Please join us in congratulating Ian Cornelius on his accomplishments and his appointment.
