Company Charity - Simon's Heroes

Apollo has chosen Simon’s Heroes as our company charity for this financial year!

Based in Tamworth, Simon's Heroes is a charity that aims to improve the quality of life and make a positive difference to children in need.  They raise money through corporate sponsorship and fundraising events including obstacle runs, family fun days and quiz nights, which helps to provide resources and opportunities that are not always available through the NHS and other fundraising routes, but go a long way towards helping children with life limiting illnesses lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

To date, this has included the purchase of medical equipment and home improvements for those who have little time for anything else outside of caring, as well as funding treats and experiences for children and their families coping with devastating illness, giving them a reason to smile.

Apollo will be raising awareness and fundraising, encouraging employees to raise money for Simon’s Heroes through a range of activities. Employees will also be invited to support events hosted by Simon’s Heroes, as well as partake in the fitness training that the charity provides.

With ‘Care’ being one of our core values, we feel it is vital to give back to and support the local community. We really admire the work Simon’s Heroes do, improving quality of life and making a difference to local children in need. All of our staff are looking forward to working together to support our first company charity!

Craig Smith, Chairman of Simon’s Heroes comments “We are very grateful for the efforts that employees at Apollo are putting in to raise money, every penny really does count! As a non-profit organisation, we rely heavily on our partnerships, sponsors and supporters to keep us going and we are so grateful for Apollo’s support.”

You can join Simon’s Heroes for just £15 a year, which offers you the chance to improve your physical well-being through weekly training sessions, run by qualified coaches, as well as participating in a number of running events and obstacle course races if you so wish.
